🔒 Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This Privacy Policy outlines how WeBook handles, processes, and protects your information when you use our Chrome Extension and landing website.

1. Data Collection & Purpose

WeBook collects and transmits specific metadata from bookmarks you save. This data is processed strictly to categorize and automatically sort your saved pages:

We do NOT track your overall browsing history, capture keystrokes, log locations, or collect personal communications, passwords, credentials, or financial data.

2. Data Processing & Security

All bookmark classification requests are transmitted securely using industry-standard HTTPS encryption to our private server hosted on Digital Ocean. The server ephemerally relays requests to AI classification APIs (powered by Google Gemini via OpenRouter) to evaluate categorization.

We do not store your bookmark contents permanently on our servers. All processing is stateless and temporary.

3. Third-Party Transfers

We do not sell, trade, rent, or transfer your metadata to any third parties for advertising, marketing, profiling, lending, or creditworthiness determinations.

4. User Consent and Settings

By installing and using WeBook, you consent to our automated categorization. If you wish to suspend automatic organization, you can disable the Auto-Organize toggle at any time in the Settings tab of the extension.

5. Contact Support
